 So... Love Syndrome III (Thailand, 2023) (positive) final review

Love Syndrome III (Thailand, 2023). Native Title: รักโคตร ๆ โหดอย่างมึง III. Also Known As: Love Syndrome the Series , Love Syndrome 3 , Rak Khot Khot Hot Yang Mueng 3 , รักโคตร ๆ โหดอย่างมึง 3. Screenwriter: Poy Orachat Brahmasreni, director: Marut Sarowat. Main genres: Romance, Drama. Themes: Gay Male Lead, Unhealthy Mains' Relationship, Gay Romance, Car Accident, Gay Relationship, Mafia, Jealousy, LGBTQ+, Violence. Was adapted from a web novel. Original Network: WeTV. 12 episodes. Aired on Saturdays. Original Network: WeTV. Aired between Mar 4, 2023 and May 20, 2023, approximately 42 min per episode. Main male leads: Lee Long Shi as "Day" Rawiphol Tharaniwat, Frank Thanatsaran Samthonglai as “Itt" Itthiphol Jaroennararat. 

From what we know and see, and from what was told to me, they didn't dare to film the second book because of the themes, so they jumped to book three and this is the result. It is same universe as Unforgotten Night (thai parent story). For that reason alone, for all the changes of actors, for all the change of the company who produced and created it… we lost track of the main points that were probably clear from the original material, which is in this case web novel. 

Still, this is a typical wrong type of relationship turned into a good and stable one, that might be very frequent in a way in novels, it is not frequent for sure in series. So, let's give here the credits for they were brave enough to take the original material and put it into series no matter how much change or mold it was to pass the censorship (not to confuse with Chinese type of censorship or other types of censorship created by dictatures).

Let us also praise how great chemistry the main actors have. They might even have better relationships, than the characters they portrayed in audio visual form. Let us also praise support characters here though.Even though I absolutely get lost and I have no clue whatsoever what their background stories are, and even though this project is probably not the highest quality or the biggest budget, they still managed to install in me curiousness about these side characters and their stories. I felt like even though they had like several minutes or seconds of the main focus of the audio visual project, they still made me engaged, interested and they made them somehow memorable for me… which is kind of great achievement, because in many cases support characters (especially if the project is low budgeted and not so high quality) annoy me and I don't care for them at all. I can't say I cared for the support characters here when they were presented and not the focus yet, but once they showed me just this fragment of their life, in that moment they kept my attention, and for that I am very grateful. It's really not that frequent to happen. And it can be in my humble opinion done only if you have as backup real novel story for the support characters that are not given the space in AV projects. Because they have their lives somewhere, it's gonna be enough for them to be plastic and not one-dimensional enough.

I as well want to praise them for this is the end of the story. Obviously not all authors out dare to write something like a marriage of two main male leads. And I think it's something so rare. The only other tie gay couple wedding I remember is the atrocious sad end of Views of Love: Grey Rainbow (2016). They got married there, but they never were a husband and husband… because for some reason they obviously had to die…? There might be more marriages in boylove genre in Thailand series / audio visuals, but I really can't suck it out of my finger now. I can't sprinkle it out of my memory on the table in front of you. So, I guess, there are not so many marriages out there yet…? Just my pure deduction.

Do you really wish me to continue?  I definitely can criticize this project as well. There for sure were many things that were below the average. The whole original material was probably not the best. And the creators most probably didn't know how to grasp it which even proves the first part of the…  first free books because there are more as I probably understand it…? So yeah I probably can criticize it, if I really want to, because it is not so hard to do that. But I feel like all of the nasty words towards this project were already spoken on mydramalist in the review section. So there is indefinitely not a point for me to do that over again. It definitely is not some of the most irking or triggering series for me to have the urge to dissect it and criticize it. You know if you go like this, you can even vivisect Bad Buddy (2021), but what good it is if it is one of the best Thailand boy love genre projects?

So, I don't wish to do it. So, I won't do it, but if you want me to do the vivisection here too, I still can try…?
