Show Me Love The Series แค่อยากบอกรัก (Thailand, 2023)

 

Promising yet not so perfect series where Engfa and Charlotte really tried, but despite their efforts and energies and overload of cuteness that they all borrowed for use to the creators’, not so perfect-landed project. Yes, we are talking about Show Me Love the series. And after I finished watching it, I had bitter aftertaste of something that really had the potential to be successful, yet somewhere in between a great mistake happened and… Perfect the result is not.  As in many cases, this is not a problem of the beauty queens who portrayed main female leads here, but of those above them who decide. 

 Most of the people who watched only the series and not the journey of #englot would be confused about what they were seeing in the last episodes – especially last episodes. I have seen many people complaining about this. They really did not understand the editing work. And it is done as in a haze or in a dream, dream-like visions at places. But… but it makes people even more confused. Moreover, people today prefer to understand things, not to go through the flow of feelings, no matter how good. At least that is the fear and constant flow of worry of those like me who maybe prefer more the feelings and even more – things that are interesting over something that just “makes sense”, but are afraid people like you might complain about the result.  I guess most of the “flow of feelings” anyway happened out of the cameras and most of the “flow of feelings” can be shown to us through lenses of fans and friends of #englot – but the series didn't really convey the best super awesome amazing pictures of that and most importantly, it didn't convey the gist of it the way that people would understand, love and feel dragged towards. Indeed, they definitely used englot’s cuteness, but in many places, I questioned why they didn't use more of it. And why they did scenes only for the sake of creating “those scenes”.

They ended up selling an empty dream in a likable package, but the project could have been much more.

It wasn’t atrocious. It was interesting at places at the beginning. Their journey was tough – englot’s journey, so giving credits for that to the series… I don’t know. It could have been better; it could have been probably worse. Ending it like this – as a fan who wants to see them dating, I guess you can at least run your imagination  over this series.

I hope it is not their the last project together.  I am going to watch something else with them, if it ever happens.

For the time being - let’s be happy over nice, cute scenes from the series. And let's be happy over the chemistry between Engfa and Charlotte.
