How Youtube Treat Creators - part II.

Several things you never wanted to know about YouTube - part II.

Several things you never wanted to know about YouTube (especially if you are a creator) – part II.:

9. Alas. It works with YouTube exactly as it works at school. You must be infallible. But the God that says so doesn't have to be. Just to give an example of one – please, YouTube, cancel the auto caption!!! It is pointless in a moment when a stuttering person speaking to the microphone says something else then is transcribed with the auto-subtitles and as a result he his channel gets a strike/is cancelled based on your valuable but very much imperfect instrument (unfortunately, many people rely on and trust it to the point where what is written matters more than truth – what was said. And then people have the audacity to complain about what the auto caption shows that the person said, as if it was a religion, not about what the person really said). The instrument you are forcing on channels, no matter if they want to or not, choosing randomly when it turns and when not, is so, so imperfect! You are misleading this way not the channels that produce videos, but the people who rely on the captions, not properly understanding the language!
And then, to top it all, you are forcing the people who are supposed to check and verify if the channel did the wrong it is accused of or not, judge based on those captions with the sounds turned off, not being able to assess correctly, what is the problem and where it might happened – in this case, if the person had a problem with speech or not. Forcing someone who is not even a native speaker of that language, to judge and assess based on the auto-captions, turning off speakers, because of some supposed “objectivity” that is not objective at all – what purpose does it serve? Why don't you just choose randomly who to strike and who to demonetize? Or do you? It would be more fair, you know….
10. If you had the feeling that they really don't know the answers to what you are asking, then you are probably right. I have the same feeling. No, wait a second – I have the same experience. After all, as I already mentioned before, you need to count on them searching for an answer that would tell you no. We are right, you are wrong, and that is without any doubts, no matter how shady our rules are. No discussion about the rules, no explanation to the channels. But then again, what do I expect? They are prone to delete even one million subscriber channels, let alone channels that have way smaller numbers. As is already stated, they try a little bit more if you have millions of followers and the wrath, the potential wrath would be a lil’ bigger. Yeah. They suggest they try to help.
But all of it serves a greater purpose, of course. To safe, protect, and redeem the so-called “community”. Hey, you, community, you never doubted it, right? That YouTube tries to protect you actually… right? (Okay let me count, in the last week I have seen on YouTube – exactly the same thing as I was given strike for, a way bigger channel with way bigger numbers than have I, congrats to you, I cheer on you for cheating YouTube that wants to be cheated, you did nothing wrong in my eyes; I have seen a record of an online m*sturbating men in the office hours in front of his colleagues with the camera turned on, I have seen several women doing what I would describe as light porn with the pretends of doing ASMR, but probably ever-controlling YouTube sees it as something of aesthetical value or education, so I will leave it at that. – Of course, none of these were labelled as 18 plus. I have seen a clip that would suggest bullying at school, though I don't really know what that one was. Let's completely forget about the clips of porn and the human-body-autopsy I have seen on this platform as well. Thank you, YouTube, you left me educated on places I wouldn’t dare to imagine – especially from you.) …am I to continue? Nope.
11. Here is the deal – If you thought that you cannot be given a strike for an already deleted video, think again. And if you are asking me about the time frame for strike after you delete a video – then I will answer you that YouTube for some reason decided to punish this worse than many criminal cases are being punished. If you know the term “the limitation period”, then you should be able to understand what I mind about these YouTube politics. No matter when you deleted a video, no matter what happened in that video or the circumstances of it – a.k.a. why. No matter that you can no longer even check out what was in that video, since you deleted it like 90 years ago, YouTube is still going to punish you. Well, technically speaking. It is not a hypothetical case; it is what happened to me. By the way, they had the audacity to lie to me and all, claiming that the video was still uploaded, visible and reachable on YouTube, available for everyone, and they “gave it a strike” when it was not yet deleted. (This lie was repeated tome several times, no matter what I said.) Even though I had – and still have – the evidence that that was not the case, and when I asked for their explanation&apology, they never did. So, the conclusion is that YOUTUBE are bunch of CHEATERS & LIARS, and they can be fallible, but you cannot. You want to succeed? You must be the one who is infallible. Yes, to rules that really do not even exist.
The pure data: if they have it in their database, you can get a strike for video you deleted for example 50, 300 or 2M years ago. That is, if YouTube survives for that long. (…it won’t.)
Remember, after all, they need to come up with their rules to prevent you from saving your channel. So you will wait ĺoooooooooooooooooong for your answer.
All I can say now is stay strong and keep fighting.
Fingers crossed!
your channel Petra
